So i came across A one very talented Marcy Penner who is doing Becky Higgens' PROJECT LIFE. I am freak about saving papers and receipts and ephemera and the whole thing really got me wanting to join in. I'm DEF going to order the multiple pack 12x12 clear sheets, bc they are really great, but I have TONS of 8.5x11 photo and baseball sheets that I have been finding over the years, and i like the idea

How they would all look on a shelf
Together...each year finding another cool binder and using it. So, I know that with Ez becoming 2 during this year that a weekly thing would be impossible, so I am aiming at an every two weeks thing. I have a basket where I save all the stuff, and I'm leaving the binder open and ready so I can add as I go. It looks like it's going to make the whole day to day bits and pieces scrapbooking process fun, easy, and somewhat effortless in a weekly manner. For all those cards and notes and weird stuff I save. Here's the start: EDIT: I started thinking that there was no way I would have enough stuff/pictures for a weekly thing. Yeah, right.

And that's a good thing. Today I plan on doing nothing. Me and the monkey are hitting up old river road for some sunshine and QT. Then it's off to a birthday party for a minute and then the mission starts for the ultimate park. (Ez is SO cute playing on the stairs and sliding down and swinging)
got a job offer making more money, less hours, less labor intense job. Off Friday & Saturdays.

Not in the flower business.

There’s a commute, and I could ride with someone 3 of 4 workdays. It’s a commitment, and although creative (graphic design), I’m not at all familiar with how to do it. Not playing with flowers everyday. But weekends off has a ring to it that could really change my life. And people need change, right?

Sometimes you wanna make all of the things in your head, but there are times you can't. Every time l sit at my macaroni and cheese colored table I feel blocked, forced. I wish I could say that's all I can think about, but cold beer and quiet time are consuming most of my time. The final weeks of summer seem to be slipping away from me, undocumented and unaware of the winter ahead. Right now I am taking much pride in all of the little things I accomplish. (as in making my own coffee in the mornings, getting to the shop on time, and watching Ez learn to go go go)
Note to self: you will continue to bloom whether the sun is shining on you or not.

What's hanging in the window? These pretties. All you need is a bag of fall leaves, pretty floral wire, fabulous ribbon, and some extra time. I'm going to make some more and Hang them in my house somewhere in a window where the afternoon sun hits them. No, it's never too early to bathe your life in fall colors. Here in south Louisiana we really don't have a "real autumn" so I say: START EARLY.

i recently caught a good bit of Lady Gaga's HBO special cencert addition and was not impressed. Very glad I never spent that 100+$$ to see it. i would like to dress up the getting ready would be a blast. so would hearing my jams. if someone bought my ticket, i'd be a blast to go with.
i need sand in my car in the form of the weekend i'm getting at the beach next weekend.. getting on my nerves and making me vaccum which i need to do so badly. maybe i'll just wait till summer's over, what's nearly a year without a good vaccuming? a record, that's what.

my national flag would be made entirely of pretty ribbons. it would be amazing to look at really, on a breezy sunny day. (that's all we have there.)

a long time ago, there was a facebook thread that listed 21 things about yourself that people didn't/probably didn't already know, and i have carried them around with me for months, so i will post them here. happy sunday!

1. i have a real hard time accepting help from people, even when i really need it.

2. when my parents divorced i was 17, i became VERY close to both my parents and they confided in me through the entire process and i am very grateful for that. the best part: they both found true love in new people.

3. i'm scared i'll never live up to the vision i have of myself in my head.

4. i have a shopping problem, but i hardly ever buy anything unless it's really cheap.

5. i am really bad at remembering people's birthdays and names. i admit i gave up a long time ago.

6. i'd rather read a gossip magazine over a magazine & am aware this makes me very American, and i am okay with that.

7. i hardly ever fill up my gas tank. i never feel like waiting, and i hate spending the $$.

8. i still sleep with a blanket i have had since i was about 2. i don't have any shame in it anymore, and now my baby loves it too. (it smells like years and years of softness and momma)

9. the only thing that's ever kept me from sleep is lying awake at night hoping there is nothing wrong with the baby. (while i was still pregnant)

10. i think i know EVERYTHING. (sorry)

11. i hate hearing the toilet flush in the middle of the night.

12. when i daydream, i usually think of the worst case scenario so that maybe i'll have a better idea of how to get out of a situation if it ever occurs.

13. i suck at accepting gifts and compliments.

14. i always want the bad news first.

15. i almost never say no to: dessert, pizza, & a good time.

16. "they" were right, i never knew worry and love until Ezra.

17. i shamelessly admit that after years of neglect i am addicted to a couple TV shows.

currently addicted to more shows than i have time to watch.

18. when driving in my car, i study plants and trees and say and study the names and when they bloom and when they die and when they wilt etc. in my head to make myself sharp in what i do for a living, as well as make up for my lack of school.

19. i have very few regrets, none of them major.

20. most of the nail polish i have bought in the last year has been blue. it is not my favorite color.

21. i love birds. bird houses, birds on a wire, bird magnets, bird jewelry, finding bird feathers, bird noises. but i can''t stand birds as pets, i think all birdcages should be empty.

so i guess despite the stuff i said, i can't stop myself from wanting to make a SB page. my love for making a canvas fades during times when i figure i'll never make a whole lot of $ on them. i have a couple for sale at the shop, but i can't really get pasted the: what am I making this for? funk, and so i pull out a recent pic and get happy. speaking of which, it is DEF time to get some new happiness developed. work has been CRAZY, and being pregnant makes me want to do nothing but crash my the time i get home. but, i have been making SOME, as seen above.

PREGNANT!!

shoot, i'm halfway through already.

it caught me by total surprise, but after some soul searching

and amazing good wishes from family & friends,

i couldn't be happier about it.

fell back in love with my city.

glass beach took a total makeover, and although it

is by far and away not the cool hippie hangout it used to be,

is still very beautiful.

my newest obsession has been driftwood.
lucky for me our levee has plenty of it.

this winter was cold. i got into one of my funks

sometime mid-january and didn't make anything or

take any pictures for weeks. now that life is crazy again, i guess it has helped me find my old groove back. i've been making pages and canvases like crazy, and spending less time worrying about cleaning my house. my heart still feels heavy, and there are some things I need to work out, but I feel the best way to do that is through my art, which has benefited. Sometimes I have to remember to focus on myself, or else my world turns grey from lack of my own sun. I don't have my camera, which has about 200+ pictures on it from good times and paint times, it got left behind in Florida with the BFF, and will hopefully be making it's way back to me via my girlfriend.

(I can't live without for long.)

so far this year's got me feeling like this:

not too bad. I LOVE what I do and I still hate my job every now and then. but I get to express other people's sympathies and happiness and regret. it's a very cool thing. a lot of emotion goes into the whole florist thing over time. people are asking me to send a thought with something I make out of flowers, and I take the whole thing very seriously. Wink.

I haven't done any actual pages in a while. by a "while" I'm guessing about 3 weeks or so. I think there won't be that many made this year. I have so many other projects

i wait for it to come each year with a bit of WILD abandonment. and at the end it's kind of like I just got off a ride at the state fair. slightly dizzy but with a weird obsession to do it all over again; right away. a while back i vowed to JOURNAL more, and in looking at all the pages I photographed today I seemed to have a least gotten better. i also decided to get a new composition notebook, it was TIME.

on my way to christians crawfish boil. (helllllllllo, SALT) i wrote this so i wouldnt forget to ask rachel if she wants to go. yes, she does. and that's a little screwdriver in the background. yuum.

how cool is this arrangment?? yeah yeah, nevermind the yellow tshirt stomach you see there. it's nothing, i was concentrating really hard.

this t-shirt has waited sooo long for paint. it's just been sitting there, always patient.
i think it needs some bling. a couple of rhinestones or and iron on butterfly in the line things. what's going on this happening, painty, kind of chilly for april night. (about 60*)

i had to snag a picture of those layered bathroom tile thing that was going on in taco bell's bathroom. and while i was at it, i snapped a quickie of myself, missing you.i'm trying to keep up with this. it's the taking pictures part i may not being doing se well with. but this is making me take more.pictures...you know. peace.

and he is very smart=i was watching greys..and honestly
it was a pretty graphic part.

but he was coloring, and of course didnt want to

leave the room..he said:

"dat's ok..she's really just sick.

and all people get sick sometimes."

he lovvvved it. the grown ups let him rinse the cfish

everytime they dumped the bucket.

and they boiled like 8 sacks, so...

the people you don't know are uncle paul and

aunt molly. he's my dad brother, and they never married.

but boy, she loves the crap out of him. she is the coolest ever.

after the whole fire thing, she was the one who took me in

for a week or so that summer. i really really needed that.

i made her a little mini as a hostess gift,

of all the babies on this side. in the book we

love, that is soooooo easy.

her top so has little turtles on it. love that.

this is biloxi. i dont know if you can tell, but it was so sad.it's one thing to see pictures. my dad has that whole book from the miss. newspaper. and i mean, i live in baton rouge, but to see it was really really saddening.

on a lighter note.this was a cool bridge at night somewhere in southern alabama.

i FINALLY painted the ol' Art Palace.

so then there's this. the pokey one is from the great state

of florida. i highlacked it. (but not with out one hell of a fight)

note the name brand. i paid 10$ for this mamajamma.

you know that's a real bargain. i will model that beauty later.

and last but not least.
my latest burkes finds. if you look to the far LEFT,

you will see something familiar, and i can't believe i found one. i went right after i

saw yours to tell you the truth, and looked thru almost every

rack and necklace. nothing. then i stop in one day,

(on the lucky shopping day i mentioned earlier)

and BAM! the other two really rock

as well......the one in the middle matched the wedges i

got perfectly, and other one was FINE, CHEAP, and

i just couldn't talk myself out of buying it.

i hate that my type is skipping lines, too.

i'll try and figure that one out.
